Fieldwire pricing: plans, per-user costs, and what each tier adds

Fieldwire has a free Basic plan for up to 5 users and 3 projects, then paid plans at $39, $64, and $89 per user per month billed annually. RFIs, submittals, and change orders sit on the top published tier.

Fieldwire charges per user. As of October 2026, its pricing page lists a free Basic plan, then Pro at $39, Business at $64, and Business Plus at $89 per user per month, billed annually. Monthly billing is offered through a toggle on the page, and Enterprise terms are custom. The plan you need depends mostly on whether you want forms and integrations (Business) or RFIs, submittals, change orders, and budget (Business Plus).

The page also has a monthly billing toggle, but the monthly per-user prices did not appear in the page content we could read, so we have not listed them. Fieldwire's FAQ says paid customers are billed monthly or annually based on license count, and that adding users adds charges.

What each tier is good for

Basic (free)

Basic is a real tool, not just a trial. A small team can view plans, assign tasks, and share photos and checklists on up to 3 projects. The 100-sheet cap is the limit most teams hit first: a full drawing set with every discipline can pass that number on one larger job.

Pro

Pro removes the project and sheet caps and adds reports and exports, sheet compare, and project templates. For a specialty contractor whose field team mostly needs current drawings and a punch and task list, Pro covers the job. See punch list and as-built drawings for the workflows it supports.

Business

Business adds custom forms, app integrations, a BIM viewer, and custom task fields. Forms are what most companies use for daily reports, safety inspections, and QA checklists, and integrations are how data gets to the rest of your systems. If you need either, Business is your floor.

Business Plus

Business Plus adds RFIs, submittals, change orders, and budget. That moves Fieldwire from a field tool toward project management. A general contractor that wants RFI and submittal logs in the same place as the drawings will be pricing this tier.

What drives the cost

  1. User count. Every paid user is a license. Fieldwire says new users add charges unless they already have their own paying account, which matters when subcontractors bring their own licenses.
  2. Tier. The jump from Pro to Business Plus is $50 per user per month. Put only the people who need RFIs and submittals on the higher tier if Fieldwire allows mixed tiers, and ask.
  3. Billing term. The published prices are for annual billing.
  4. Enterprise extras. API access and SSO are listed as quote-based, so an IT requirement can push you into a custom contract.

A worked example

Say a mechanical subcontractor has 3 project managers, 2 superintendents, and 10 foremen who need current drawings and task lists. On Pro, 15 users at $39 is $585 a month, or $7,020 a year. If the company wants custom forms for daily reports and safety checks, Business at $64 brings that to $960 a month, or $11,520 a year. If the 3 project managers also want RFIs and submittals in Fieldwire, and the rest stay on Business (ask whether that mix is allowed), the bill rises by $75 a month for those 3 seats.

Notice what the per-user model rewards: deciding carefully who needs a paid seat. A foreman who only opens drawings twice a week costs the same as a project manager who lives in the app. Some companies give field leads a seat and let crew members see plans through the lead's tablet. Others license everyone so tasks can be assigned to individuals. Either approach can work, but decide before you sign, because the annual bill scales with it.

Compare that with a 4-person crew doing small service and tenant improvement work on 2 or 3 active jobs. They may fit inside the free Basic plan until the sheet cap bites.

Hidden costs to ask about

  • Monthly billing rates for your tier, since the page did not show them in the content we read.
  • Whether you can mix tiers on one account, so only some users pay for Business Plus.
  • Training and onboarding costs. Fieldwire offers a free help center and says customized training is available; ask whether it is priced separately.
  • Integration costs on the other side. Connecting Fieldwire to accounting or scheduling tools may require a paid plan in those tools too.
  • Custom pricing. Fieldwire says it offers custom plans across projects or companies starting at 50 licenses.

Strengths and limits

Fieldwire's strengths are a usable free tier, published per-user pricing, and a strong plan-viewing and task workflow for the field. It supports 19 languages, per its FAQ, which helps on mixed-language crews.

The limits come from per-user pricing at scale and from tier placement. RFIs, submittals, change orders, and budget sit on the $89 tier, so a company that wants those across a large team pays the top rate on many seats. Fieldwire is not an accounting or estimating system, so most contractors run it alongside other software.

Alternatives and where Smart Business Automator fits

See Fieldwire alternatives for other field and project tools, or how much construction software costs for a wider budget view. Smart Business Automator is a newer product, also priced per user per month (Starter $19, Professional $40, Business $67, Enterprise $100), with project tracking, change orders, invoicing, job costing and WIP views, and AI help drafting RFIs and summarizing daily logs. It is not a drawing viewer, so a team that lives in plan sheets should weigh that. Details are on our pricing page.
